Over this past weekend, LifeSpan sponsored and participated in The Prevent Cancer Foundations annual 5k “FUNdraising” walk/run held in Washington, D.C. The Foundation raised over $110,000 making it the most successful to-date. All proceeds will go toward research, community outreach, advocacy and education programs.
Bobby Krause, LifeSpan’s Vice President of Sales, along with his family participated in the event alongside 500+ other participants looking to aid the Foundation in the prevention and early detection of cancer. Bobby was able to meet and talk with a few of the participants listening to their stories on how cancer has impacted their lives. Throughout the month of October, LifeSpan will be blogging about some of these survivors’ stories in the hopes of spreading cancer awareness as well as the importance of early cancer detection.
Where other employees were unable to make it to the actual event, they formed a team of “virtual walkers”, walking on Treadmill Desks throughout the workday in honor of the days activities.
