Stretch partner video reviewBalanced Flexibility and Increased Range of Motion

This system was designed to provide the user with a deeper and fuller stretch, allowing the user to get an additional 8” to 15” of stretching movement. The Stretch Partner also supports balanced flexibility. Being flexible in particular areas or joints does not mean that all areas are flexible. Often people are more flexible in one joint than the other. The Stretch Partner provides consistent positioning allowing the user to focus on specific joints, or areas of the body to obtain balanced flexibility and range of motion.

Instructional Flip Chart and Video

Flexible for Life stretching DVD includes a step-by-step stretching program that covers all major muscle groups and a guide book that illustrates 18 stretches for all major muscle groups. Among those stretches are those for the lower back, hamstrings and hips - key muscle areas that golfers need to stretch before and after a round of golf to maximize their swing of motion. The guidebook also features stretches for the shoulders, upper back, neck, abdominals, forearm, triceps, chest, hamstring, glutes, groin, quadriceps, thighs, legs, calf and Achilles. Users can also quickly formulate their own stretches as well.

Flex-Smart Pivot System

The patented Flex-Smart™ pivoting system provides a greater range of movement to accommodate various body types and levels of flexibility. It helps place the user in the proper body position for stretching, then uses gravity to stretch all major muscle groups.

  1. Very Satisfied Review by PlanMan

I have some chronic lower back issues so I'm often on the lookout for "solutions". I use the Precor 240i stretch machine at the YMCA but the price point is just too high for a collection of aluminum pipes, a seat and handle bars. The LifeSpan SP1000 arrived at my door. Box was a bit beat up...so it was handled a bit roughly by someone along the way. Some smaller parts were scattered throughout the box so I was concerned something might be missing. Assembly was made more difficult by poor instructions but if you have even average mechanical skills its nothing to put together. You may need a helper to hold things for you. All parts, tools were included. The build quality on hardware is as good as Precor, although the seat and knee platforms aren't as well made. However they are more than adequate for home use. With the addition of a torquing joint at the base of the handlebar post you actually can do a few stretches that can't effectively done with the Precor. I can do a circuit of stretching in less than 10 minutes if I'm in a hurray so I'm happy. The design and workmanship are good. I'm 5'11" and have no problem with the size so I'm unsure what the commentary about it being for smaller person is referring to. I had an issue with the cross bar that attaches to the base of the handlebar post...it was welded off-center. I contacted LifeSpan and they sent me a new one after an email, phone call, and photograph I attached to email showing flaw. So, customer service would get a top rating from me based on that action. This is a solid investment in your health. Get one. (Posted on 3/17/14)

  2. Lifespan Fitness sp1000 Review by MIckey F.

I bought this for home use because the Precor was $200. more. Its fine for stretching but I don"t like the movable handle, not necessary, and I feel the padded seats will crack. It's ok but still too expensive for what you get. I should have gotten the Precor Stretch Trainer. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  3. Stretch Machine Review (Posted on Oct. 30, 2012) Review by C. A. Saccaro "Katie"

I Love the product and customer service was great! I would definitely purchase other items from this vendor. I don't use it as much as I would like to, but, I always feel really good after I do use it. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  4. Great morning stretch! (Posted on Jan. 7, 2013) Review by thomthom

Didn't know these old joints could feel so good anymore. Found this machine at our chiropractors and liked it so much we decided to buy one for home. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  5. Wouldn't be without it! (Posted on Jan. 26, 2013) Review by Lorraine M

I have had lower back problems most of my life. I discovered the similar Precor stretching machine at the gym, but it was considerably more expensive on Amazon. Bought this one and it is every bit as good!! I use this every day, and even more if I have been out and come home with a sore back. It stretches just the right muscles and provides great relief. I like the cards with other stretches too and am enjoying good stretches for my hips, legs and upper back as a nice bonus. It will pay for itself with money I won't be spending going for massages or to the doctor. If you have any back problems, believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING - and this is the BEST!!! (Posted on 7/17/13)

  6. So far great. (Posted on June 29, 2013) Review by Clay P.

Purchased as gift for father (70+) for his home exercise area- he enjoys it a lot. Something to add to his strength / flexibility routine and maybe enhance his golf game. Think mom enjoys using it as much or more and both say how simple it is to use and how great it is have something handy they can use anytime. It has a bit different feel from the similar precor trainer I've used; but I felt the same result / effect with this machine when I tried it. Doesn't take up great amount of space, don't have to lay on the floor to use it, and assembly was simple according to dad. Best thing I can say is my folks like it, they're using it daily - morning / night and when ever they feel the need. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  7. He loves it. (Posted on July 11, 2013) Review by marja

Bought this machine for my husband, and he absolutely loves it. He claims is energizes him, and gives him the best stretches! (Posted on 7/17/13)

  8. amazing results for simple looking machine (Posted on Nov. 14, 2008) Review by V. Pydi "redvik99"

I had used this instrument some time back and was suprised by the results. Had completely overcome my backpain with workout followed by use of this machine in two weeks. Searched for it online and finally purchased one.

You will be surprised with the kind of stretches it gives to your back, legs, hamstring, shoulders.

You might try this before/after your work out or just stretch to strenghthen your back muscles using stretch exercizes.

Anyone who has a bachache or wants to avoid pain after workouts, this machine stretches your muscles and could alleviate pain - you could try it if it works for you! (Posted on 7/17/13)

  9. Great Machine (Posted on Sept. 8, 2010) Review by cadk

My husband and I use our stretching machine everyday. Our flexibility has improved and we love the machine. Although you can do any of these stretches on the floor with a partner, we never did. I highly recommend this machine. It is a great end to our busy days. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  10. skeptical husband (Posted on April 28, 2009) Review by sharonb "sharonb"

Hi I recently purchased the LifeSpan stretch partner, and absolutley love it,I use to use the one at the gym,and found the only time I wouldn't mind stretching was on their machine so I looked into buying one,and came across this,it was not only cheaper, sturdier, but also had a better range of motion......also the main thing my rather skeptical husband.who always says what is this now, loves it as well,we have brought friends over to try it and they are buying it too....Thank you Sharon Bass (Posted on 7/17/13)

  11. Different than the Precor, but still nice (Posted on Nov. 17, 2010) Review by Carol

After reading other reviews about this piece of equipment, I expected it to be more like the Precore I have used at the gym in the past. This is a nice piece of equipment, but I was surprised to find that the front piece moves. It is not bad, it is just different. Also, I read that it might not fit a tall person- my boyfriend is 6'6" and he uses it just fine. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  12. Excellent equipment at fair price (Posted on March 8, 2009) Review by Basic sense

Before purchasing this, I did look at the "Precor" stretcher but found LifeSpan stretcher to be of equal quality but with better feature (Front structure has a tilt feature which allows for a smooth and easier stretch) and at a much better price.

Installation was fairly simple. In summary, do not hesitate to purchase this equipment. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  13. GREAT Product (Posted on June 12, 2009) Review by P. D. Jones

After using this machine or device as you may call it, at my local gym I decided to buy one for my home. I have lower back disc problems and found the stretcher to be very beneficial for not only lower back but upper-back and shoulders as well. Do watch the enclosed video that comes with machine. It has very useful tips and advice.

  14. Easy to use exercise equipment! (Posted on July 7, 2009) Review by Mary S.

I first tried this machine when I was in therapy for my neck, shoulders, and back. It assisted my workout sessions and brought relief to sore muscles in just a matter of a few weeks. Therefore, I purchased one for my home. Not only was it convenient, but also much less than buying one at an exercise store. Great product! (Posted on 7/17/13)

  15. Love My Stretch Partner (Posted on Dec. 22, 2009) Review by Charles B.

I had been using one at the gym for some time and thought it would be beneficial to have one at home so I could use it every day. I was so right. Now I use it every morning shortly after getting out of bed and I am so much more loose and relaxed during the day. When I play golf I use it after my round and never feel any soreness or tension in my muscles like I used to. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  16. Oldie But Goodie (Posted on Feb. 2, 2010) Review by Ken T.

I'm 68 years old and have engaged in various sports since childhood. Age takes its toll. This Stretch Partner has reignited flexibility in my muscles that hasn't been there for years! It's extremely easy to use, comfortable and fun. My 49 year old wife....(soon to be 68)....loves it too! We have it in our home "mini-gym" and it's become a real favorite. We've recommended it already to several friends. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  17. LifeSpan Stretch Partner Review by Ann M.

The LifeSpan Stretch Machine SP1000 has been a great Birthday gift for my 60 yr. old husband. They have truly become Partners. I did have a concern about his being over 6 ft. tall that it would work. There was no problem there.
The product is steady and sturdy; for sure nicely put together. And, the salesmen are definately on their toes! Thank you guys. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  18. Simple and Exceptional (Posted on Dec. 11, 2011) Review by R. Spell "raspell"

58 y/o playing sports all the time adds to someone always sore and always with stiff parts. Not to mention my extremely tight hamstrings. I receive at least one massage a week many times more. This machine is a good addition to my body wellness.

I recently purchased one after taking a bike fall and my back has remained "bound up". This machine has done wonders! I played a tennis tournament this weekend and was very sore/stiff. I hopped on this daily and felt much better. I've been using it one week and can already tell a difference.

Do you really need this? No. But this machine makes the stretches quickly and with better pressure. Assembly was pretty easy even for a village idiot like me.

I recommend this machine for those needing a good stretch with limited time or interested in better instruction and technique. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  19. Best stretch ever! (Posted on Feb. 28, 2008) Review by Falguni D.

I bought this machine because I used another one made by Precor at my gym and loved it!! I started a home gym and had to have this piece of equipment as part of my gym. The Precor model was outside of my budget so I purchased this one instead.

Stretching after a workout is somewhat of a chore for me and I would sometimes forget muscle groups that I had worked out. This machine comes with a chart of all major muscle groups and walks you through a program. I stretch for about 10-15 minutes after each workout and feel great afterwards and much less sore the following days after a workout. My lower back and glutes are the areas the needs the most attention and this works so well there! (Posted on 7/17/13)

  20. Best stretching machine on the market (Posted on Aug. 22, 2007) Review by Geoffrey F.

I have been using a model for a couple of years at my chiro and decided to buy one for myself to stretch and adjust between sessions. I came across this unit when I bought my treadmill and not only was this unit cheaper BUT also gives me a deeper stretch because the handlebar comes towards you than what other units offer. The video and flip book are nice and gives me more stretching options than the unit at my chiro's. I really enjoy my daily stretching routine! (Posted on 7/17/13)

  21. Gentle workout (Posted on April 29, 2008) Review by P. Brown "RC Brown"

The LifeSpan Fitness Stretch machine is a wonderfully stable machine. It is hard to believe such a compact machine can be so sturdy and do so much. The stretching uses the body's own weight for mild resistance to build strength along with flexibility. This type of stretching encourages better posture which enables better breathing. My 80-year-old husband uses it after he walks to warm up. Very life-enhancing. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  22. Great Tool for Promoting Flexibility (Posted on May 25, 2009) Review by J. Kaiser

This machine helps me get a great stretching workout in 20 minutes. It is comfortable and allows me to easily isolate muscle groups. I feel that the LifeSpan Fitness Stretch Partner will help me develop greater flexibility in a way that is less stressful than using a mat and a balance beam. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  23. Precor effects without the hefty price tag (Posted on Jan. 22, 2011) Review by batnip

The LifeSpan stretch partner works just as effective as the Precor and provides a great stretch partner at about 60 percent of the price of a Precor stretch partner. The only difference in the two machines is the LifeSpan front handle pier with the handle bar is designed to flex from the base frame as you stretch which seems to makes it a little easier as you start stretching. The seat and knee pad on the LifeSpan (vinyl encasing foam padded hardboard) is not as rugged as the molded seat and knee pad on the Precor stretch partner but, if you are using it at home and not putting it in a gym where dozens per day will use and abuse it, the LifeSpan should last a lifetime. Easy to assemble in less than 15 minutes with tools provided.

Unless your ego has to have the Precor name on everything in your home gym, buy the LifeSpan and use the dollars you save on this stretch partner to purchase a quality Precor treadmill or bike. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  24. stretch motivator (Posted on Oct. 20, 2008) Review by Joseph M.

I tried out the precor version at the YMCA and loved the idea of systematic way to stretch my legs and hips with assistance. The Precor machine was too expensive but the Life Span accomplishes exactly the same thing for much less. It is solidly built and easy to assemble.I love that the Amazon Prime membership makes shipping to my doorstep free. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  25. Impressions of the LifeSpan Fitness SP1000 Stretch Machine (Posted on April 21, 2008) Review by T. H. Smith "tsmith3"

I learned about this device at a Chiropractor visit. He had three of the devices, and encouraged those waiting "adjustments" to stretch. (He did provide initial training guidance on it!) He recommended (to me) that I strongly consider purchase of this device, especially as I am a cyclist, and riding a road bike for extended periods does cause some body stresses. So, I bought one! Assembly was simple. (I had my son assemble it!) I use the device EVERYDAY. I am confident that it has been excellent for me, especially in the back, hip, and glutes stretches, all of which suffer in varying degrees when I ride. The price of the device is steep, but actually is half the cost of similar devices I have seen in gyms, YMCAs, etc. (Posted on 7/17/13)

  26. It really helps Review by DC Michael Araghi

The LifeSpan Stretch Partner is a great piece of equipment. It really helps my patients get the lower back stretch needed to reduce back pain and strengthen muscles.

Shipping & Delivery Options

LifeSpan wants to make sure your products arrive safely and quickly. We do our best to provide you with delivery options that will best suit your needs. All delivery options are listed below with a brief description for each.

We feel the best value for your money is our Room of Choice Delivery. We make our products easy to assemble even easier to get started, but because they are heavy we recommend having them delivery to the room of your choice.

If you are wanting to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada OR if you have any other questions on the options below, please give us a call at 801.973.9993 x 128 and a representative will be happy to assist you.

All products generally ship within one to two business days and will be delivered in five to ten business days.

Available Options:

Standard Delivery

UPS/USPS Shipments: UPS and USPS shipments will follow their standard protocols for package deliveries. It is up to the discretion of the driver whether a package is left when no one is home. If the driver feels that the package could be stolen or get damaged based on your location or weather conditions the driver will not drop the package but will leave a first attempt notice. The driver will make three attempts with notices on each attempt and then return the product to the distribution center to be held for the customer to pick up. After seven days the shipment is considered undeliverable and will be returned to the shipper.

Curbside Delivery: Delivered to the curb or driveway. The customer is responsible for moving the product from the point of delivery to the garage or room where the product will reside. The drivers are not responsible for placing the product inside the garage or home. LifeSpan will not be responsible for rain damage or stolen product if the product cannot be moved to a dry, secure location. Since most equipment weighs over 175 lbs., if a second person is not available to help move the product to the home a better option is Inside Delivery or the best option is Room of Choice Delivery.

Inside Delivery - $49

Large items ship via motor freight and will be placed in the garage or the first available ground level door. This does not include room of choice or any steps. Since your product is being shipped via freight carrier you will be contacted by phone to schedule a delivery time since this shipping method requires a signature.

Room of Choice - $99

Delivered by a freight carrier with lift gate, two delivery professionals will place your product in the room of your choice. Rooms can be up/down two flights of stairs only, additional flights will be charged an additional $15 per flight. This is our recommended service option since the assembly process is quite basic for most LifeSpan pieces of equipment.

White Glove Service - $199

This is our highest quality shipping service, leaving all the work to us so you don't need to lift a finger. The complete White Glove Service includes:

  • Delivery of the product to your home
  • Placement in the room of your choice (up/down two flights of stairs)
  • Unpacking and removal of debris
  • Assembly

This service is sometimes a two-step process that may require two separately scheduled appointments.

  1. Delivery and removal of packaging
  2. Product assembly may require a certified LifeSpan technician to come to your home and assemble the product that was placed in your room of choice by the delivery team.

Depending on the product you purchase, it may take one or two separately scheduled appointments. Items that only require one-step in this process are the TR200 Treadmill and all Treadmill Desks and Bike Desks (ConfigureDesks will be a two-step process). These units will be assembled by the delivery team.
