LifeSpan Fitness Equipment and LifeSpan Fitness Club Support Heart Health
Lifespan treadmills, elliptical trainers and exercise bikes let you monitor your heart rate as you exercise by using contact heart rate sensors or a chest strap. Most LifeSpan cardio fitness equipment pieces also include heart rate control exercise programs that you can customize to use your heart rate effectively according to your physical condition and activity level.
You can also track and monitor your heart rate and blood pressure using your personal online account in the LifeSpan Fitness Club. A LifeSpan Fitness Club membership is included with the purchase of any Lifespan i treadmill, elliptical or health monitor. The LifeSpan Blood Pressure Monitor includes a USB data port, enabling users to save blood pressure and heart rate readings to a USB device, then quickly and easily upload the results to their online fitness club account. LifeSpan i treadmills, elliptical trainers and exercise bikes also save heart rate readings to a USB device, every 20 seconds as you exercise.
By tracking your heart rate and blood pressure readings in your online LifeSpan Fitness Club account, and using heart monitoring and programming features on LifeSpan fitness equipment, you can become more aware of your heart health and make good daily decisions that impact your life.
Proudly Supporting The Heart Truth to Help Fight Heart Disease Among Women
Salt Lake City, UT, April 22 PCE Health and Fitness, maker of LifeSpan fitness equipment, is teaming up with The Heart Truth to encourage women to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle to lower their risk of heart disease.
Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, and one in four American women dies of heart disease. The Heart Truth, a national awareness campaign for women and heart disease, is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), part of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The Red Dress reminds women to protect their heart health and inspires them to take action. Leading a healthy lifestyle, which includes getting physical activity, can help lower the risk of heart disease by as much as 82 percent.
The NHLBI has chosen PCE to join reputable companies including Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, General Mills and Swarvoski in The Heart Truth campaign to raise awareness of heart disease among women. LifeSpan is the only fitness equipment manufacturer to partner with The Heart Truth.
The Heart Truth is part of PCE's ongoing community responsibility commitment to support national health-related initiatives. "We believe exercise is imperative in preventing chronic conditions such as heart disease," says Peter Schenk, President of PCE Health and Fitness. "As a company in the health and fitness industry, it is our responsibility to do our share to help improve the health of Americans by educating consumers and offering solutions."
Although significant progress has been made in raising awareness among women about heart disease, from 34% in 2000 to 57% in 2006, most women still fail to make the connection between risk factors and their personal risk of developing heart disease. PCE is proud to support this valuable campaign and help make a difference in women's lives.
