1. You wish to keep track of your walking on your computer and also to upload it to your account online to track your progress.
2. Your computer is Bluetooth enabled (natively or by plugged-in Bluetooth USB).
3. You have already installed the software for the Treadmill Desk App on your computer.
4. You have already set up the desk by entering your weight in the console.
5. You have already enrolled in the Lifespan Fitness Club online and set up your account for your goals, etc.
1. Click on Treadmill Desk App icon on desk and log in ("use this to view your treadmill results on your computer").
2. Click on the button on the app window that connects via Bluetooth to your console and press the Bluetooth button on your console. The console button will flash blue until it connects.
3. Press ON/START and adjust speed.
4. Log into your Lifespan Fitness Club membership and leave it alone in the background (this will make sure you don't forget to do this later and then lose your data, as I have done several times).
5. When finished for the day or particular period, press STOP/PAUSE.
6. If you've been walking for some time, REFRESH Lifespan Fitness Club BEFORE attempting to upload to make sure you are still logged in or you won't be able to upload and you will lose all that data(!).
7. Make sure you are still logged into your Desk App (if not, you can log in now and walk a little which will make all your data current, then stop), then press and hold STOP.
8. Click "Account Sync" in the App (it will upload to your logged-into account online).
9. To see results online go to Lifespan Fitness, see "Reports" (bottom left of screen) and click on "Exercise History" and they will pop up. Click on the week, and details of each day will show (it updates the info if you do this more than once in a day). Strangely, it defaults to whatever is "yesterday," at least for me, so go to the current day.

I've thought of getting a treadmill for a good while. When I first learned about treadmill desk, I brushed it off as novelty. However, after looking at my lifestyle, trying out conventional treadmill, and carefully considering what's realistic, I decided treadmill desk is actually ideal for me and my wife. We are terribly busy, and it's really hard to find a dedicated time slot to exercise and stick with it. Treadmill desk allows us to exercise while doing what we have to do anyhow - working on computers.
After doing lots of research, we found and really liked TR1200-DT5. However, the difficulty to adjust table height is a major problem to us, since we have multiple family members needing to use the treadmill desk, and we need to be able to adjust the table height quickly and easily. Eventually we decided to go with TR1200-DT3, and got the ModTable base ($470) plus a table top from IKEA ($20). This combination costs almost exactly the same as TR1200-DT5, but enjoys the benefit of a table with easily adjustable height that even my 5 year old daughter can operate.
The 2013 version of TR1200 solved the annoying beeping sound problem (you can disable it now in Engineering mode), added a blue tooth connection (which I found quite useless mostly due to the desktop app poorly designed). The TR1200-DT3 is very easy to assemble, quiet when operating. Lubricating the belt isn't too bad after a bit of practicing, and cleaning the motor assembly is very easy. I lean my ModTable against the wall, and have a very stable working surface. I can work quite well while walking at 1.5 mph. You do need a few days of practice to get used to it though. I still can't say that I can do all the precise and intensive office app work as well as sitting at my desk, but I can do probably 95% of what I need to do at work on TR1200. I found the most enjoyable use of the treadmill desk is surfing the Internet (the iReader extension on Chrome really helps), having conference call, or watching Netflix. Writing emails is quite a breeze as well.
The only thing I'm unhappy about the unit is the control (as pointed out by other reviews). Speed adjustment, pause and resume, scrolling thru display, the bluetooth app, the overall button response, are all tedious and should be made a lot easier and crisper.
It has been almost 2 months since I got the unit, and I was able to average about 3-4 miles per day, even with my hectic schedule. This isn't a whole lot, but still way better than the mostly sedentary lifestyle that I had before. I have definitely felt a lot better, and my weight is coming down. I'm very glad with the purchase. I look forward to walking many miles on my TR1200, and getting a whole lot healthier along the way! This really looks like a life changing purchase for me.

I have a 42" flat panel TV as a monitor sitting on a pine board shelf that I made for it. The large monitor is a big help- one of the problems I had at the gym was the walking motion made it difficult to read or use the tiny TVs attached to the treadmills. I use a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse with a unifying receiver. I have a "sitting desk" right next to the treadmill desk and each desk has a separate monitor, keyboard and mouse so I can easily switch back and forth as needed. The unifying receiver allows up to 6 devices to be connected to a single receiver that is plugged into the computer (so far 1 wireless keyboard and 2 wireless mice) so you won't have to use all your USB ports. The keyboard does not have a wrist rest which allows it to be placed against the padded edge of the treadmill desk. This stabilizes my hands (palms are resting on the padded edge) so I can easily type at 2 mph. I haven't tried increasing the speed beyond that because mouse control degrades rapidly. At this speed I misclick occassionally (I am not doing anything requiring a high degree of precision, just clicking links, etc.). In the future I may add a wireless touchpad which has been highly recommended by several other users to improve mouse accuracy while walking. I can just barely write short notes at 2 mph (they are usually sloppy but readable) but I can write fine at 1 mph.
I also have a small LG blu-ray player on the desk. The treadmill is very quiet, which was especially important to me because I have a small hearing loss and background noise causes me a lot of problems. I have been able to watch videos at 2 mph without headphones with no problem and I have also had no problems talking on the phone with or without the bluetooth headset.
The desk is very stable and since it sits on the floor it is isolated from the treadmill vibrations. Keep in mind though, that if you lean on the desk (which you shouldn't since it is bad posture) the desk will move a bit - so be careful placing things near the edges or stacking too high. My monitor shelf has to sit very near to the back edge of the desk due to the cord management disk, so I used a couple blocks to make sure it doesn't slide off. Since the desk is so stable you really don't need cup holders, in fact I think they would be a waste of desk space. It would be nice to have some accessories that clip onto the sides of the desk to hold office supplies (especially a paper/book holder that could be adjusted both horizontally and vertically).
In general I like the console upfront where I can easily see everything and it isn't really in the way but I have found that occassionally I will knock the key off causing an emergency stop. Most treadmills have this problem but it is a little more likely when you are close to the console because it is attached to the desk you are using. I finally ended up taping the cord to the underside of the treadmill to keep it out of the way.
There are a few things that I think need some improvement:
1. Unlike alot of people I actually read the manual/instructions and I was very surprised to read that the warranty was only valid if you register your product within 30 days of purchase. This is very unusual and to be quite honest comes across as a little shady since it was buried in the "Warranty" text. This needs to be put in large, bolded print in numerous places.
2. As others have mentioned, this treadmill accelerates and decelerates very slowly. However after decelerating very slowly for a prolonged period of time, it jerks to a complete stop very suddenly. I didn't notice this at first because the deceleration was so slow that I often hopped off without waiting for the belt to come to a complete stop. It is not a huge problem for me because I have good balance but it does startle me. However this could be dangerous for older people or those without good balance. The belt should decelerate more quickly with a smoother transition to a complete stop. The way it currently operates gives the false impression that the belt will come to a smooth gentle stop and it takes so long that most people will probably not be paying attention by the time the complete stop occurs.
3. The instructions need some improvement. I learned more about how to use the bluetooth feature from another reviewer on Amazon than I did from LifeSpan. I was very frustrated in the beginning and lost data for the first 2 days since "Account sync" apparently deletes the data from the counters on the treadmill app even if it doesn't successfully transfer it. It was also not clear that the data uploaded through the bluetooth link only shows up when you click on the "Exercise History" link under Reports in the lower left corner of the LifeSpan Fitness Club window but you can only see the individual manually entered data when you click the "Update" link under "Exercise Results" in the middle of the screen (you can see total minutes/steps/distance, etc. manually entered for the week in "Exercise History" but not the individual entries). This was very confusing while first trying to set up the bluetooth functionality.
4. It would be very useful to have some actual photos showing a properly aligned belt. This is my first treadmill and mine arrived off center (or at least the gaps on the two sides were not equal so I am assuming it was not properly centered). The directions to align the belt were not as clear as they should be. The drawing in the manual showed a single hole/adjustment bolt on each side in the rear of the treadmill, however there are actually 2 bolts or screws on each side and the adjustment bolts are the lower ones. A couple of high quality videos on the website demonstrating how to align the belt and lubricate it would be a big improvement.
5. When you accidentally knock the key off the console, resulting in an E-stop, you lose your data. If the treadmill app was running before the E-stop, the numbers are still displayed but when you start up again everything is set back to zero. Other than writing down the numbers before starting up again and manually entering them, is there no other way to save your data? Can you add an option to have the desktop app continue the count instead of starting over?
6. I have used the treadmill for about a week and a few times a day one of my sneakers briefly comes in contact with one of the siderails (hardly an excessive amount since this treadmill is designed to be used up to 6 hours a day and I do 4-5 hours). I have already noticed that the edges of the plastic siderails are roughened. This makes me question their durability. A hardened plastic or metal strip should prevent or greatly reduce this problem. Part of the reason I bought this treadmill desk was because it looks better than something I could make myself so if it starts to look bad quickly that defeats the purpose.
So far I really like it and being able to work while exercising has finally allowed me to get back on track with my fitness goals.

I've used a stand-up desk for a number of years, and there was surprisingly little to get used to in order to walk and work at the same time. I had planned on easing into the walking slowly, but ended up doing 5 hours the first day and 6 hours the second without any ill-effects.
The product arrived quickly and well packaged. Assembly was a breeze - in fact, it took longer to get the stuff out of the boxes and to the recycling bin than actually putting the treadmill desk together. The instructions are easy to read and it isn't that complex of an item to get together. I was able to assemble it by myself, but it is probably advisable to have two people do the assembly. Also, I would suggest grabbing a socket wrench for the bolts that connect the tabletop to the desk legs - the flat wrench provided can get a bit annoying and take too much time.
The desk and treadmill are VERY solid. The desk uses high quality hardware and is extremely stable.
When considering the purchase, I really didn't like that the desk was curved and had built-in pads and treadmill display. The product designers knew better - the pads are very comfortable and the curved design just works well.
The treadmill itself has a large deck. I'm 6' 3" and usually feel like I'm in danger of hitting the sides or back of treadmills - not so on this one. The motor also seems to be very quiet - It's certainly not silent, but is a reasonable level to use in an office even with my door open to the hallway.
I've only had it a couple of days, so I can't yet comment on reliability. I hope the build quality also translates into a long lasting product.
Although I would recommend this desk to anybody, I'd like to point out the few items that I consider to be minor problems:
Aesthetics - while the desk isn't ugly, it looks like a piece of hospital equipment. While I don't think it's possible for a treadmill desk NOT to stick out in an office environment, It would have been great if it could have been made to look a little less clinical. Though, of course, some people may love that look.
Beeping - The unit beeps on starting, stopping, and when making any adjustments. This can be very frequently in an office environment and the beeping itself is quite loud. It would be nice if this could be deactivated.
Resume - Whenever you pause or stop walking and then restart it, you have to reset your speed (which is also accompanied by beeping).
Though there are a couple of minor annoyances, I am extremely happy with this desk and recommend it very highly!

Update: now have 15 miles and 42,000 steps and 2,300 calories. Very quiet and sturdy (I am 6'7" and 250+ pounds).
Another update- Just hit 30,000 calories burned having walked 550,000+ steps and 216 miles. Am still very pleased. It continues to operate smoothly. The only thing I do is follow recommended silicone spray on the belt. Have lost 25 pounds (35 pounds if I can count the 10 pounds I lost twice at Christmas!). Resting heart-rate down as is blood pressure.

I was dubious that I would be able to maintain full control over my keyboard while coding, but when walking at 2.5 mph, it is pretty achievable. The only time I stop the treadmill is to do design work in Photoshop, but other than that I am at a steady 2.5 all day long.
All the photos of this treadmill tend to include laptops on the desktop, but I have mounted a 27" Apple Thunderbolt display perfectly on here. It is stable enough that the monitor does not move while walking (as long as the treadmill is not touching the desk legs) and I have my laptop docked to the monitor. It is a perfect solution.

I'm brand new to this outstanding machine, just got it yesterday, but I'm already in love with it. It looks really nice with my 27 inch iMac sitting on the desk, which is very spacious! I used it for about two hours at about 2.5 mph and it was a very good feeling to get my work done and at the same time get a generous workout.
I'm very pleased with the delivery and the item was very easy to put together.

I have two desks (one for sitting and this one) which helps because I am not sure I could use this all day long. However, slow walking is MUCH more comfortable than standing.
It is very easy to read, type on the computer and use the internet at .4 mph and the steps add up quickly. Sometimes I crank it up to 4mph when I need to really get the blood going.
Using this treadmill has "activated" my whole body, so I find myself walking more, wanting to lift weights more, etc. For me it has broken a sedentary cycle I was falling into.
The product has a large work area: 47w x 32d. It takes up some floor space: 37w x 72d. So plan for that.
I am 54 years old. I would NEVER go back to sitting all day.
My unit was missing the safety key. I called the company and they sent one overnight at no charge which exceeded my expectations.
In summary: This product is a great value. It is build very strong and is stable (be sure to tighten the desk top bolts properly and there is NO wobble). I thought a long time before buying this because I did not want to buy some fitness equipment that I would not use. However, I am using this MORE than I expected. It is exceeding all of my expectations.
