Good Piece of Equipment Review by David E.

The LifeSpan Stretch Partner does exactly what it says it does. It has a set of cards that the user can flip through to systematically stretch all muscle groups. It's easy to use, both for me and my much shorter wife. I highly recommend it.

This is much more affordable than the ones that you see at the gym, and it works just as well. I find it most useful for stretching out my back, but you can also stretch hamstrings etc. It allows me to get a deeper stretch than if I was just on the ground doing stretches without a machine. It is sturdy and is fairly easy to build. Just follow the directions and you will be fine.
Almost like the Precor Review by Reverie

This stretches my back and legs very much like the Precor, but there is one major difference I've noted: the handlebar. The handlebar has some give to it and it feels flimsy, but it's actually sturdy despite it's give. I'd rather have a solid handlebar, and I'm not sure what utility there is in the give.

I'm 5'3" and my mother is 5'0" and neither of us have had any problems using this device. She has back and shoulder problems which have been helped significantly through stretching. It's helped me be more diligent with stretching after my long runs. The LifeSpan machine comes with an instruction booklet that's divided based on the body target you wish to stretch. All the stretches come with pictures and text instructions.

Assembly was easy, but you want to assemble it wherever you plan on placing it because it gets heavy once it's altogether.

I have been using the SP1000 on a daily basis for about a month and I find that It compares very favorably with the much more expensive Precor Stretch Trainer that I was using at the gym. It is a little smaller and made of lighter materials but is well made and easy to assemble. It serves as an excellent means of stretching all areas of the body. The stretch guide, which is attached, is a great feature and includes illustrations of the recommended stretches.
Great Machine Review by speechtree

I do speech therapy with a little children and I sit in the floor with my legs crossed. I have messed up my knees and my hamstrings and I've had to go to the chiropractor to try and align my hips. This is the same machine that is in his office that you use before he gives you your adjustment. I do the exercises listed every day and I no longer have severe pain in my knees. My knees are so distorted that I was having a very hard time walking. All is good now

I bought this device for my 81 year old father because he refuses to see a physical therapist.

He is walking much straighter in a matter of days (2 sessions per day).

I started using it myself and have eliminated my own back issues.

It's just simple traction but it works.
Definitely not built for someone who is tall Review by LynnL

I have always enjoyed using the Precor stretcher at the gym. I read the reviews and saw the LifeSpan was not only cheaper, but had more stretches. I am a 5' 10" older woman in good condition with some extra weight. I was very uncomfortable leaning back as it seemed to crush my abdomin. It was difficult to breathe. I have never experienced this with the Precor. It helped holding the upper bars, but the LifeSpan was not nearly as comfortable as the Precor. In addition there is little or no padding on the outside rim of the knee pad. When bending back it is very uncomfortable on my upper shins. The black grip handles are hard on my palms. I am going to look for a leather wrap so I don't have to wear gym gloves. On the plus side there are more stretches available on the LifeSpan, and I really like LifeSpan's Quad stretch. I am going to continue trying to adjust my body position to find a more comfortable stretch.
Does the Job Review by Freelance

This Stretching machine is a good buy for the money. It went together easily. It has a good stretching guide that is easily accessed. I have used a couple other similar machines by other manufacturers that seem to be more comfortable. I am 5'11", so not an unusual size, but the others just fit a bit better. I think a smaller person would fit this one better. But for the price, it is a good buy.
Simple and Exceptional Review by raspell

58 y/o playing sports all the time adds to someone always sore and always with stiff parts. Not to mention my extremely tight hamstrings. I receive at least one massage a week many times more. This machine is a good addition to my body wellness.

I recently purchased one after taking a bike fall and my back has remained "bound up". This machine has done wonders! I played a tennis tournament this weekend and was very sore/stiff. I hopped on this daily and felt much better. I've been using it one week and can already tell a difference.

Do you really need this? No. But this machine makes the stretches quickly and with better pressure. Assembly was pretty easy even for a village idiot like me.

I recommend this machine for those needing a good stretch with limited time or interested in better instruction and technique.

This is a gym quality piece of equipment. I recommend for anyone
as this facilitates stretching of all key muscles. I am so impressed
with this that I have decided to purchase for both of my adult sons!
