Great treadmill for the money. VERY quiet. Durable for most folks using it. Great value. Shipped to my home and quickly assembled by a 7 year old... Check out the quick and easy assembly video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9A6JQDA_7Q&feature=youtu.be
Happy with purchase, assembly not bad at all for 1 person. Review by P May

Assembly: Wasn't too bad at all. Sometimes workout equipment is truly terrible to put together but I assembled this by myself and didn't really have much of a problem. The only issue I had really was trying to position it after assembly, onto the mat I purchased for it. This was a little rough because I have the treadmill facing the wall and it doesn't really roll well if you want to position it facing a wall and on a mat. It keeps getting stuck on the mat and bunching up but I eventually got it without any help.

Use: No issues yet, haven't used it for all that long but I've fairly happy with it. It doesn't have any crazy features or anything (which is the way I wanted it, nice and simple) so hopefully that means that the electronics will be fairly reliable. I was a little wary of the belt width at first but it hasn't caused any issues so I can't really complain there.

Overall: I think this was a solid purchase especially since there aren't very many treadmills in this price range that aren't terrible in some way. I really wanted to avoid any crazy online service requirement to use all of the built-in running programs so this was near the top of my list, especially in this price range.

I was so nervous about buying this product without testing it first but the reviews gave me confidence. The delivery people were really great and professional. My husband spent less than an hour putting it together for me. I've been using it for a couple of months and I just love it. I wish my kids didn't disrupt me so much during my workout because they want to go on it too. Runs smoothly, sturdy when running. Easy to use controls. I can't say enough of how much I love this product.

I purchased this treadmill after my Sole repeatedly failed and repairs became too expensive. I have been very pleased with this treadmill. It is very quiet and easy to use. It had a minor display issue when I set it up. (It may have been caused during shipping.) The company promptly dispatched a tech and the part to repair the problem. The LifeSpan Customer Service Dept responded promptly and kept in constant communication with me. So far, I am very pleased with the treadmill and the company.

Love this treadmill. I've never been that much into cardio but finally decided to get into it and went back and forth about how much to spend. There's a couple cheaper options on Amazon that contemplated but ultimately I went with the LifeSpan based on reviews. Unless you're going to be running marathons or ironman competitions, then this is the best treadmill that you can buy for $1000 or less.
Noisy treadmill tip Review by SunnyDal

Very well made treadmill. Loved it for the first 2 months, then it started making a clicking noise as if there was something loose and it was banging against the metal. It got so loud that headphones didn't dampen the noise and I was too annoyed to run. I pretty much tightened every bolt and opened up the motor casing and made sure nothing was loose. The sound didn't go away. I finally gave in and called customer support. The rep told me to fold the treadmill up to standing position, loosen the bolts and spray the silicone lube (the same one you would use on the belt) and the noise should go away. I thought to myself, what the hell is this guy smoking? How in the world is that suppose get ride of the banging noise? I was at the point that I wanted to throw the thing out my basement window if I could have lifted it, lol. What the heck, lets give it a try. I took out my ratchet set and went to work. Only problem was that the nut and screw went round and round. You need a big Allen wrench to hold the other side in place to actually loosen the thing. Being unable to loosen the nuts and bolts I decided to just spray the lube where the nuts and bolts met. Gave it a couple of minutes to let the lube settle in, started the treadmill and the noise went away!!! Now I love my treadmill again.

In use now for 2 months. Replaces a Merit 750T that failed structurally after less than a year. Picked LifeSpan because the treadmill desk I use at work uses a LifeSpan brand treadmill and I have been very pleased with that product.

When it comes to the TR1200i, very pleased I spent a bit more than that Merit cost in order to get a machine that is noticeably more solid.

I use it daily, intervals of 4.7 mph and 6.2 mph, varying slope. I really like the two user definable routines: 20 intervals in which you select slope, pace for each interval. (So, each interval would be 1 minute, 30 seconds in a 30 minute workout, 2 minutes if you elect some days to go 40 minutes, ...)

Treadmill immediately found my Polar smart bluetooth HR chest strap. Did not have to do a thing. Actually took me several uses to figure out how to get the HR to display on treadmill console. Manual is very basic. (While in use, have to hit Enter key to toggle two displays between HR/Distance and Calories/Steps.)

Spent a fair amount of time with the two HR-based exercise routine choices. Select a minimum HR to maintain for one; the other allows interval training with user setting a low and a high HR rate. Then, for either, pick pace or slope as the variable the treadmill adjusts. Love the idea, particularly for interval, but could never get it to work satisfactorily for me - would seem to never drop back to low HR after high HR was reached. Easier to just watch HR display and make adjustments manually until a consistent pattern established - then program one of the 20-interval user workouts accordingly.

I use the LifeSpan fitness club to keep track of activity. (USB stick allows transfer to my iMac for the TR 1200i; work machine automatically sync's via bluetooth to the same account.) LifeSpan TR 1200i shipped with free membership.

Pace, slope, distance, steps are all accurate. Clock, curiously, always gains 10 seconds in a 30 minute workout. No big deal.
You will not get a better treadmill for the price Review by DocWittmer

This treadmill is saving my life. I have had it for about a year now and I have lost over 60 lbs by walking on it for 40 minutes a day. You can adjust the incline and speed while you are walking and you can pause it or stop it if you have to take a break. It has a low start speed and is easily adjustable from the handholds. It has developed a squeak in it that I believe I can fix by tightening the bolts on it. Other than that, keep the belt lubricated from underneath and exercise away. You will not get a better treadmill for the price.

We are middle aged couple who realized that we are not getting any younger, we also learnt over the years that more you exercise and eat healthy food, the less time you will spend with your doctor and blood thirsty insurance companies, and this made us search for some good fitness equipment within a reasonable budget.

The positive reviews on Lifespan TR 1200i on Amazon and elsewhere on the internet made us purchase this Treadmill and we are pleased to say that the reviews on this fitness equipment on Amazon are honest and it is well worth the money spent.

With Lifespan TR 1200 Folding Treadmill we got a strong running surface with whisper quiet 2.5 hp motor, a sleek, attractive looking easy to read Color LCD console, Dual side handrail with speed and incline controls and a super easy folding system to save space wherever you wish to place this.

You also get a USB key device (Small size 128Mb) which you can insert into the console that tracks and records your information. Along with a free membership to the Lifespan Fitness Club online (A $99 Value), you can use this to track your results over time, get new workout routines and reach your fitness goals faster.

Here are our positive experiences [PROS] with this product:

PROS
[+] Very Quiet Operation -The Lifespan TR 1200 treadmill runs extremely quiet even at decent running speeds like 5 miles per hour and still feels solid and shake-free console which is very easy to read.

[+] Intelli-Step Counting feature - With most people's goal is to walk their "5,000 steps a day" to have a healthy body, this is a very helpful tool. Basically, the treadmill works like a pedometer and shows how many steps you've taken during your walking or running routine.
This is an exciting feature that can give you positive feedback from the console to challenge you to go further.

[+] Safety Pause feature - The TR 1200i treadmill has built-in sensor in the belt drive system. It senses and relays that to the console computer on-board when you're no longer stepping on the belt and will automatically stop the treadmill after predefined seconds.
This is a great safety feature to give you some added peace of mind, especially if you have small children in your home who loves to play around the treadmill

[+] Speed and Incline Controls on Arm Bars - We love this feature, especially when you pick up your pace and don't want to reach up to the console which can throw you off balance. However, with this treadmill you can change your speed (Right hand controls) or incline (Left Hand controls) with the touch of an easily accessible buttons on the arm rests instead of reaching up to the console while you are walking or jogging.

[+] Console with Speakers - While this is becoming a fairly standard feature in most treadmills, it's still a nice option to have. In this treadmill you can plug in your iPod or your favorite MP3 player and listen to your workout music through the console speakers.

[+] Free Membership to Lifespan Fitness Club - As mentioned earlier in this review, The Lifespan TR1200 comes with a tiny capacity (128mb) free USB device when plugged into the USB port automatically tracks and stores your workouts. It also holds your personal information (so that don't have to re-enter it when you start up the treadmill every time).

The $99 value membership (Included free with this model from lifespan) to their fitness club will help you by taking into account your preferences and goals. It then sends you weekly exercise routines and even sample videos on how to do certain exercises and work more fitness into your daily routine. The basic idea is to stay accountable and be on track on a daily basis to reach your fitness goals.

[+] Good Warranty on the product from the manufacturer

Frame & Motor: Lifetime
Parts: 3 Years
Labor: 1 Year

This gives you peace of mind and believe me if some manufacturers state this clearly it means that they made effort in making a good equipment and according to our observations, the treadmill is indeed build solid and will last years to come.

CONS

[-] Speakers are not of great sounding, Not very bad but not good either :-)

We hope this review is useful for others just like it has been for us here on Amazon user reviews, and we wish that by making a purchase you will meet your fitness goals in life!

Cheers! And may you have a happy healthy life!
Almost Perfect 4.5 Review by G. Kepnick

Well the unit came today and it took me quite a while to set it up, as I did it on my own. The packaging was really strong and it came on a pallet. They delivery man helped me get it into my place. And I had to strong arm it into my office. It is quite heavy, but the box is clearly labeled with a "heavy end" so you know where the head of it is.

The first issue I had was it should have some leaflet or instructions on how to properly unpack it. It is a big item and quite a few ways to get it out of the box. I am not sure if I did it the easiest way. I ended up cutting away the box around it so that it was just a cardboard pad on floor. Then I lifted the arms/back thing into place and locked it down. Then lifted the belt into the storage position and removed as much cardboard as possible and assembled everything else. This would have been 100x easier with 2 people, but I did not want to wait for help.

The second issue I had is when I raised the bars up I must have pinched the wires. Like the black part peeled away and I could see the wires on the inside. It all seems fine, but that sucks that I had it for a day and now have exposed inner wires. Maybe some sort of cable housing could go on those or they could be pulled to the side when you package it. This one is my fault for not checking before I lifted back into place, but I do not think the wires should have been in that joint. Oh Well. Electrical Tape to the rescue.

Beyond that kink the unit went together well. They put all the screws where they need to go so none are missing, but that means you need to unscrew them first, and then assemble and put the screws back in.

Another issue I have is with the annoying beep. It sounds like a short or something in the speakers. Almost like when a smoke alarm needs a new battery. I would love an option to turn that down or have a more pleasant sound.

The instructions have lots of information, but are pretty bad on the setup as well as getting the features to work. Setting the clock should be in some starting page rather than near the end. Also lubing the belt should have a diagram at least.

It would also be nice if you could get 2 memberships / or a family membership on the LifeSpan Fitness club. Most people who own this will have a couple people using it, but only one person will get to use the software.

Beyond that I am happy with it. It seems well made, has lots of features and seems pretty quiet outside of those terrible beeps when you hit a button.

The walking platform is huge on this. I have not tried running or jogging, but on a walking pace you can really get a long stretch/stride if you like.

I am going to be using it as a "walking desk" so it is nice that it goes from .5-1 in .1 increments.

The included fitness software is actually pretty cool. You put the USB in the treadmill and it logs all of your workout info onto the stick and then you upload it the site and it shows you your progress etc. It worked flawlessly, even with a MAC. Might work w/ linux too as it is web based and runs on Adobe Air.

It is an expensive unit, and when I got it was actually below the 1k so it was eligible to get the 20% savings. At that price I thought it was worth it to move up from a entry level machine and get something that should last.

To sum things up, this thing feels really sturdy. It is not as heavy duty as a gym unit, but it was nicer and sturdier than the ones at my physical therapy office. It is has some great features to help you get more use out of it. There are a few quirks but nothing that should knock off more than a star. I think it is a solid 4.5. I am giving it a 5 to bump up that one ladies irrational 1 star review
