JUST OK Review by JHB

We needed something compact that could fold, and due to no other choices we opted for this one. It is not bad, was easy to assemble, although super heavy to move up stairs. Works fine so far, my big complaint is no cup holder for water and no shelve for a tablet, which makes it super dated..there is a magazine slot which is pretty much useless. Also, no side arms which is hazardous IMO. Works OK, wobbles a bit..could have gotten a much nicer model for hundreds less but it was not compact so we almost were forced to choose this one..If you have a small space it is
not bad, but quite expensive.

It was very convenient to receive the treadmill already assembled. It seems to be a good product, user friendly and easy to store. I would recommend it for someone needing a compact unit with limited space.

Perfect , great buy for me, I use the higher incline and slower speed (I am in my 70's 5'1). When the Treadmill came I though OMG how am I going to put it together. It was as easy as 1,2,3.... Also note it is Very Heavy not that easy for somebody like me to just put it away and take it out every day, so I prefer to leave it out and use it almost everyday several times a day .......I love it, happy with my purchase.

This treadmill is meeting all my expectations. Has all the perks I wanted, just like the commercial one I used at exercise gym. Very happy with it, using at least five times a week.
portable and great for walking Review by Marilee Hollister

This treadmill is portable, folds up easily (although heavy) My only complaint is the rubber smell that started after a month or so of using it 3-4 times a week for 20-30 minutes. We bought the lubricant and used it several times but still get that smell after about 15 minutes. It is good for walking/power walking but not jogging/running. Speakers are tinty and noisy when hooked up to my MP3 so I don't use that feature. It is very simple to use and set up! It is perfect for limited space or when you need to put it away. I stand mine up vertically in a corner of my office. Price was good and fast shipping.
a good buy Review by EP

I've had this treadmill for one year now and am pleased with it overall. For the first several months I used it daily; now I've added other equipment to my home gym and use it every third day or so.

It came completely assembled (nice!). The instructions advise using belt oil before first use but none is included, so be sure to order a bottle when you order your treadmill. You'll need it anyway, as it is important to keep treadmill belts oiled to keep the motor from being overworked. Construction is solid for a machine of this class (folding/portable). After the first couple months of use I noticed the rubber on one of the rear feet had started coming apart - apparently I didn't have it fully level (uneven wooden floor) and the movement started tearing the rubber. I contacted Lifespan to purchase a replacement foot and they sent me a new one at no charge. Excellent customer service!

The control panel is easy to use. It has 6 pre-set programs, each with 3 levels of difficulty, or you can create your own custom program. Has a jack to plug in your iPod; speaker quality is not great but acceptable for what it is.

Every once in a while (4 or 5 times in the past year) the control panel goes a little wacky when it is first turned on, but each time was resolved by just turning off then on again. I've also had the "safety key" wiggle a bit out of place and that will also prevent the unit from powering on correctly (also easily fixable).

When I purchased this treadmill I thought I might fold it up for storage on a regular basis, but as it turns out I just leave it up all the time, so can't comment on the durability of that feature.

Having done research before this purchase, I will say this machine receives high ratings for its class and I feel it is a very good buy. Lifespan has given me great customer service.
Good for casual walking but not much more, Review by Lord Foul

I bought this treadmill in December of 2009. It is rated at 250 lbs. which is more than adequate for my needs. Initially, I was very happy with it. The unit came fully assembled and setup was very easy. It was easy to maneuver. It only took a couple of minutes to fold up and put away. It felt sturdy while in use and it had a decent amount of exercise programs to choose from. My daughter and I used it for speed walking. My wife used it for casual walking. The belt required lubricating every 3 months which was somewhat of a pain but otherwise, we all like it.

The first 4 months of ownership were great. After that, things went quickly downhill. As several have mentioned, the treadmill was plagued by constant sudden stops. Over the next 8 months, I had to have it serviced about every 4 to 6 weeks during which the belt was replaced twice, the motor was replaced twice, the display console circuit board was replaced and the wiring harness was replaced. The second belt and motor was installed during the last service call (a week before the 1 year warranty expired). That time, they upgraded the motor to one with more horsepower which seemed to do the trick. With the larger motor, the cover wouldn't fit properly and this created an annoying rattle as it ran. Aside from that, the unit ran well for over a year.

About 6 or 7 months ago, the sudden stops began again. At that point, it worked well enough for my wife's casual walking but wouldn't accommodate speed walking. Finally, it started failing with my wife. Being out of warranty and not wanting to waste money on it, I trashed it and bought a NordicTrack C 900 that I found clearanced at a Sears Outlet store for $600.

On the service side, I must say that customer support was very good. Each time I called, parts arrived within a day or two and a service man was at my door within 2 to 3 days. At no time did they give me the run-around or make excuses or waste my time with attempts at over the phone diagnostics. They were always polite and very responsive.

To sum it up, if casual walking is all you do, this treadmill should work well for you. Otherwise, keep looking.
Meets my needs! Review by Gray Cat

I have a slightly older model that I got about three years ago, and it's a great piece of equipment. This treadmill got me started running so that I ran my first 5K a couple of years ago. I stopped exercising regularly, between then and now, but I'm back on the treadmill, and it's working well. It's basic, but it does the job. I can walk and run on it comfortably.

What's most wonderful about it, is that it folds up completely and has a small footprint. I'm able to slide it between the wall and some built in cabinets so that it's completely out of the way. Sliding it out and opening it is a little bit of a pain, but it's no big deal, assuming you aren't moving it too far. I'm a middle aged woman with not much strength, and I can do it fine.

The price is reasonable, and the ability to store it out of the way is a huge plus. Exercise equipment is not my idea of furniture, and I don't have the extra space for a gym in my house, so this is really the only way I would ever own a treadmill.
Heavier and a bit awkward Review by redrose35

This treadmill is easy to assemble but it is a bit annoying to keep tightening the nobs for the upright portion of the machine. These nobs keep the upright portion tight. When you want to fold up the machine, you loosen the nobs (not an easy task) and then fold the upright down. The machine itself is a bit heavier than I would like making moving it a bit unpleasant.

That being said, the treadmill is a bit noisy but is a fine choice for indoor walking.
Quiet, well made, and perfect for indoor exercise Review by Professor_in_NC

I wanted a treadmill that I could use for brisk walking (3.5 mph) and I wanted one with an incline that could be adjusted while in use. This treadmill is perfect for me! I am short and my husband is 6'2" & it works well for both of us. It does roll easily on the front wheels, but I failed to notice that it is 3" wider than my inside doorways, so I leave it where it is. I also leave it in the "unfolded" position because after unfolding it, you have to tighten the base by turning the too-smooth blue caps at the base of the support poles (which I can't do with limited hand strength). It is small enough that it is not in the way next to my desk, and I am glad that the console is simple and small. I can hold a book on the handle and read while walking, but mostly I just listen to podcasts. I haven't tried the faster speeds, so I can't comment on that. The incline is not as high as I expected something labeled "10" to be, but it is enough to work my "hill" muscles. I was happy to see that this model (2014) has the emergency stop clip that I can hook to my shirt. It is quiet and overall an excellent choice!
