1. Great rower! Review by Rober

    thanks for this great product,
    i love it!
I've been rowing for almost 5 years and this is the best rowing machine i've ever tried.
extremely smooth, and quiet at the same time.
    thanks (Posted on 12/7/13)

  2. The best rowing machine I've ever bought. Review by Marie

Let me first say that it's not my first rower, I've been using rowing machines of all kinds (air,piston,water...) both at my local gym and at home. Now, I finally decided to buy a new rower and got a RW100 online. Got it in a couple of days, and set it up in half an hours.
I had my first session the same day, and let me tell you, it was GREAT!
First of all, unlike many other rowing machines, this one is extremely quiet.
I was watching TV while rowing and absolutely no problems.
I rowed for almost 1 hour and It's was an absolutely calories blasting Cardio Workout. I loved it!
The main point I want to make is that this rowing machine is definitely worth the money, trust me, there are many other pricey rowers out there but they're not as good as the RW100.
Anyway, as soon as the workout ended I easily stored upwards and placed it in my room. So you don't have to worry if you don't have much space at Home.
Just a bottom line, I was using a concept2 rower but this one is way better, at least for me! it's extremely smooth, and it's way cheaper! which is not something to underestimate.
So, I've been using this for about 3 months and I definitely recommend you to get it.
There's a website that helped me choose the right rower, check it out here: rowing machine reviews (Posted on 12/2/13)

  3. Best Rowing Machine for the money. Review by Remy

I'm completely satisfied with my purchase!
To be honest, the LifeSpan RW1000 is definitely the best rower I've ever used in my life. Although I've used many different rowing machines during the last few years, this rower is the most flexible one and it guarantees to notch performances at any time!

I reccoment you to buy this rower if you're serious about getting fit and, at the same time, have fun. actually, It's not all about getting fit, I enjoy rowing on the water, and so I enjoy rowing with my LifeSpan RW1000 too!
Anyway, I've got to thank this guy @ http://www.rowingmachinereviewshq.org/ for his precious help. (Posted on 11/28/13)

  4. Great at home machine (Posted on May 13, 2013) Review by F. S Hartill

I have used a few types of rowing machines before and have always been a fan of the upper body and cardio workout. This machine is pretty good quality for the cost. When I purchased it I was worried about the lack of momentum mentioned by one of the other reviews, but honestly I don't know how I used a machine that did build momentum before. I love it, and I can't seem to get a good workout on the other machines now.

Me and my husband assembled it in about 10 minutes, but I could have easily done it by myself. It came in 2 pretty large packages and all but one piece was entacted (a small cover for the back end of the rail was broken, it was only aesthetic)

The folding mechanism is super simple and is easy enough to do after every workout if you don't have a lot of extra space. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the electronic counter doesn't like to turn off when the machine is not in use which runs the battery dead. Also the foot straps are a little cheap, but could be replaced.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an at home row machine that is pretty well made and a reasonable price. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  5. good except for one thing (Posted on Dec. 22, 2012) Review by Elizabeth K.

It really works really well except for the electronic timer, calorie and stroke counter. How can I get that small item replaced? (Posted on 7/16/13)

  6. very high quality (Posted on Feb. 24, 2013) Review by Joan

shipped on time. carefully packaged. minimal assembly and easy to follow instructions. my husband and i use it all the time. very sturdy and solid. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  7. Great system (Posted on March 14, 2013) Review by Bendimus P. "is out killing Dodongos"

Setup was a little vague, but once it was together, the system is fantastic. Well built, and folds up nicely for storage. My wife uses it almost everyday, and she is very happy with it. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  8. Great Rowing Machine (Posted on Aug. 2, 2011) Review by JW "John"

I have owned three rowing machines. This one is by far the best one yet and it cost $100 less than the one I purchased in 1993. This machine gives you a good workout and unlike my other machines, the tension is adjustable so you can work as hard or easy as you like. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  9. Works fine, a good home rowing machine (Posted on Dec. 5, 2011) Review by D. Lewis

Everything arrived in good shape and was easy to put together. All the parts fit well and the design seems good. I have been using it for one week. Overall, it was a good value and adequate for my use (in a 55 yo who is out of shape and just needed some form of regular exercise). It is clearly for home use and I would not expect it to take abuse without problems. If you are very athletic, buy a Concept II. If you are an average Joe (or Jill) who needs a home exercise machine, this will do the trick and not break the bank. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  10. LifeSpan Fitness RW1000 Rowing Machine (Posted on Sept. 13, 2009) Review by Sherry B "Sherry B"

Did our homework on this one. And it paid off! This is a great no frills machine. Provides good workout at a reasonable price. Hope to enjoy it for years to come. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  11. Quiet, simple, compact rower (Posted on Jan. 16, 2011) Review by WhatHappened

Easy to set up, simple to use, quiet in operation. I have mine in a stationary spot by the t.v. so when I get evening food cravings, I open it up and mindlessly row instead of mindlessly eating. More serious rowers may want to buy more expensive models to get higher-end electronics so they can pretend to compete against other people for motivation. This one simply counts each time the seat moves past a certain point (with or without arm movement) and starts over at 999. But for the money, I got just what I wanted. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  12. solid, quiet machine (Posted on Dec. 24, 2010) Review by DoctorH

Excellent rower for the price. Quieter than the Concept 2, which I used at my local YMCA. MUCH better than the cheap piston rowers (sent one of these back to Amazon). The display/computer isn't great; it times the workouts fine, but the calorie counting is a joke. However, I don't really care to have my exercise equipment tell me how many calories I've expended. You can't go wrong with this machine. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  13. Quality rowing machine for the $ (Posted on Jan. 24, 2012) Review by E. Rob Stirton "Dei Amores"

The LifeSpan RW1000 is an excellent home fitness machine. I couldn't be happier with it or recommend it more highly.

It was easy to assemble and is easy to use and the ability to store the seat slide in an upright position is critical in my house. It has enough monitor features to be informative and keep me motivated while exercising. The seat slide is very fluid with absolutely no resistance, the row strap move seamlessly and the machine is darn near silent when in use. I place my tablet next it for a little music to work out by and have no problem hearing it.

I've enjoyed the low-impact exercise this row machine offers.

I like the quality of the machine and it is a great product for the cost. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  14. Good value (Posted on Feb. 19, 2012) Review by R. Roberts

I've used this machine for about 3 weeks and I like it. It should be a sufficient workout unless you are in exceptional competitive condition. The motion used some different muscles for me and I could only go for about 10 minutes starting out.

Pros: Relatively easy setup, smooth motion, pretty quiet, doesn't take up a lot of space, cheap compared to Concept machine

Cons: Feet tended to slide out of velcro (fixed by strapping a pair of Crocs in place, that works very well, just slip your feet in), exercise counter not backlit (can use a book light if you like to row in the dark)

  15. Good Rowing Machine for the Price (Posted on Aug. 9, 2010) Review by Mike L

I bought this rowing machine several months ago and have been very pleased over all. My doctor recommended a rowing machine for cardio exercise that was not weight bearing on my knees. My knees were getting bad enough that I could not walk or treadmill fast enough to get my heart rate up where I wanted it for a workout. You can get a really good work out with this machine. It has 5 levels of resistance; I am up to the third level. It seems well made and is sturdy. I have been using it for several months and have no doubt that it will last several years. The foot straps hold your feet tightly. The seat and seat wheels work well. The rower folds up for storage and it rolls easily. You can workout in the middle of a room and store it in a closet or corner.
I have two issues that made me give it a 4 star rating rather a 5 star. The most serious issue is that the "computer" display only worked some of the time when I first got the rower and now does not work at all. This does not affect the quality of the workout you get with the machine. It doesn't bother me, but if you want to know strokes per minute or distance, this would be a problem. The other minor issue is that the wheels are a hard black plastic that left marks on the slate floor. They are not a problem on carpeted areas. I solved the problem by gluing a strip a carpet to the wheels. It rolls safely on any floor surface now.
Overall, I am very happy with this rowing machine. You can get a very good workout and it appears that it will last a long time under normal use. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  16. Good Quality Rower (Posted on Feb. 10, 2010) Review by A. Tran "Marzipanda"

I'm a runner but needed a quieter workout (my treadmill can't really be used in my new condo). Stupid neighbors.

I'm glad I chose this model instead of going for the one that is just a little over $100. The assembly instructions were cryptic (there is a blown-up bill of materials that inaccurately showed over 100 parts). I found it too daunting (due to cognitive deficits, maybe) and asked my brother-in-law for help. It took him only 15 minutes; homie even said it was EASY.

I watched a few how-to-row-properly videos online and that made a difference. The machine folds up nicely and I can easily wheel it to the corner of the room. It makes little contact with the floor so I don't feel that a mat is necessary. This is my first rower and it's amazing how much I sweat during a 30-minute workout (about 600 strokes). I'm losing weight like crazy.

I highly recommend the LifeSpan Fitness RW1000. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  17. 83 of 90 people found the following review helpful 1.0 out of 5 stars Not meant to actually be used, March 5, 2010 By T. J. Stewart (Burnsville, MN, US) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: LifeSpan Fitness RW1000 Rowing Machine (Spo Review by E. Wong (Posted on Jan. 12, 2011)

This rower arrived in two boxes in good condition. Assembly is very easy - just a few nuts and bolts, with the included hex keys and wrench. Mine was missing a washer, a plastic bump-guard, and a nut, but all non-essential, and I was able to go ahead and use the rower immediately. When I contacted Lifespan, they immediately sent out the missing parts, and I received them very quickly. The sliding action is very smooth, and the pulling action is also. It is relatively quiet for an exercise machine (obviously there will be some noise), and I am able to easily watch television while working out. I have not attempted to check the accuracy of the included battery-powered information panel, but I do like that it pauses the timer if the seat doesn't move for a few seconds. It folds and transports easily on rollers.

Update: having used this for the last 8 months, I have to say that it has been great. It is easily quiet enough to row while watching television at a reasonable volume, and the action has mostly been smooth. There is a slight squeak sometimes depending on how I am sitting - slightly annoying or you can think of it as a reminder when you aren't sitting quite right and have bad form, haha. On my slick tile floor, the whole machine does slide a bit if you use a jerky motion, but if you have a smooth and steady stroke, then it's fine. Haven't gotten tired of it yet, and use it almost daily as part of a regimen that keeps my middle-aged paunch at bay (somewhat:-). (Posted on 7/16/13)

  18. Great Machine (Posted on June 8, 2009) Review by S. Romero "SR"

Bought it in a store (2nd Wind Fitness) for $450 if memory serves, 3mo's ago. Great workout, folds up easily, stows away in a corner, sturdy. Couldn't ask for more for the price. Very, very pleased! (Posted on 7/16/13)

  19. Great Exercise Machine! (Posted on Dec. 7, 2008) Review by jk

Shipped quickly from amazon, good price. My 10 yr old son set it up in a few minutes and I love it ! Use it everyday for strength training (arms/legs) and cardio (takes a little work to work up a sweat but easy on the joints). Doesn't take up too much room, easy to read monitor. Low impact - easy on my feet, knees, back. Would recommend highly. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  20. nice (Posted on March 23, 2009) Review by Charles Hartmann

sturdy, good price, could use a little more tension but good enough for the casual user - 40-60 min. a week. time will tell how long the rollers last but you still have to keep the track clean with wd40. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  21. Easy, effective workout (Posted on Jan. 23, 2011) Review by Hap

This was officially my first home fitness equipment purchase. I researched many, many rowing machines for a period of 3 weeks. i noticed at my old gym that they used this brand and saw good reviews on it, so i purchased it. The unit seems to be very sturdy. The seat is fairly comfortable and the velcro foot straps securely hold my feet during the workout. Probably one of the biggest things i noticed during my workout is how relatively quiet the machine is. My workouts thus far feel very good. I'm only at resistance lvl 1, but i feel as though i'm getting a very effective workout after every use. A slight drawback is the screen for the machine. It is very inaccurate in counting calories burned, but it does have a timer on it, which is really all i wanted.

Assembly of the machine was not as easy as i would have liked. The instructions lacked in detail and the pictures provided were very lackluster. I will compliment PCE though. I gave them a call when i was having difficulty assembling the machine and they were very polite and courteous to walk me through it. I didn't even have to provide them with a serial number or anything, they just helped me.

If your a novice to rowing such as me and are wanting to find a very effective machine to get a solid workout i would recommend this one. I would of liked to of gotten a concept 2, but i just couldn't justify giving that much money for my first rower. For the price, this machine is the best bang for your buck. (Posted on 7/16/13)

  22. Not durable or reliable! Review by Ned

I bought this rower 2 years ago and it's been broken twice now! It broke after I'd had it less than a year and the warranty covered the repair, although it took 2 months to finally get a service person to show up and fix it. Now less than a year later it's broken again and my warranty is expired! I simply have not gotten anywhere near my money's worth out of this equipment! (Posted on 6/14/13)

  23. Five stars for sure Review by Darren

We had a very good experience with the delivery and assembly and the machine is working well for our needs. It's providing the full-body, low-impact, supplementary workout that we were looking for.

Thanks for an excellent product and excellent customer service.

  24. Best rower for the money Review by Dan

I researched rowing machines for over a month and decided on the LifeSpan rower. I've been using it every day now for the past two weeks and love it. Smooth, quiet, easy to fold up...its the best thing for the price hands down. It has a knob that allows you to adjust the difficulty and I wish it could be adjusted even tighter, but it's still pretty good. Great low impact exercise. I just set it up in front of my TV and hop on for 30 minutes each morning and it's been fantastic. Similar machines online were all nearly $1,000 a more. To get something similarly priced I would have had to get Stamina or Marcy, two brands I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. Glad I bought this one, no regrets! (Posted on 8/22/12)

Shipping & Delivery Options

LifeSpan wants to make sure your products arrive safely and quickly. We do our best to provide you with delivery options that will best suit your needs. All delivery options are listed below with a brief description for each.

We feel the best value for your money is our Room of Choice Delivery. We make our products easy to assemble even easier to get started, but because they are heavy we recommend having them delivery to the room of your choice.

If you are wanting to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada OR if you have any other questions on the options below, please give us a call at 801.973.9993 x 128 and a representative will be happy to assist you.

All products generally ship within one to two business days and will be delivered in five to ten business days.

Available Options:

Standard Delivery

UPS/USPS Shipments: UPS and USPS shipments will follow their standard protocols for package deliveries. It is up to the discretion of the driver whether a package is left when no one is home. If the driver feels that the package could be stolen or get damaged based on your location or weather conditions the driver will not drop the package but will leave a first attempt notice. The driver will make three attempts with notices on each attempt and then return the product to the distribution center to be held for the customer to pick up. After seven days the shipment is considered undeliverable and will be returned to the shipper.

Curbside Delivery: Delivered to the curb or driveway. The customer is responsible for moving the product from the point of delivery to the garage or room where the product will reside. The drivers are not responsible for placing the product inside the garage or home. LifeSpan will not be responsible for rain damage or stolen product if the product cannot be moved to a dry, secure location. Since most equipment weighs over 175 lbs., if a second person is not available to help move the product to the home a better option is Inside Delivery or the best option is Room of Choice Delivery.

Inside Delivery - $49

Large items ship via motor freight and will be placed in the garage or the first available ground level door. This does not include room of choice or any steps. Since your product is being shipped via freight carrier you will be contacted by phone to schedule a delivery time since this shipping method requires a signature.

Room of Choice - $99

Delivered by a freight carrier with lift gate, two delivery professionals will place your product in the room of your choice. Rooms can be up/down two flights of stairs only, additional flights will be charged an additional $15 per flight. This is our recommended service option since the assembly process is quite basic for most LifeSpan pieces of equipment.

White Glove Service - $199

This is our highest quality shipping service, leaving all the work to us so you don't need to lift a finger. The complete White Glove Service includes:

  • Delivery of the product to your home
  • Placement in the room of your choice (up/down two flights of stairs)
  • Unpacking and removal of debris
  • Assembly

This service is sometimes a two-step process that may require two separately scheduled appointments.

  1. Delivery and removal of packaging
  2. Product assembly may require a certified LifeSpan technician to come to your home and assemble the product that was placed in your room of choice by the delivery team.

Depending on the product you purchase, it may take one or two separately scheduled appointments. Items that only require one-step in this process are the TR200 Treadmill and all Treadmill Desks and Bike Desks (ConfigureDesks will be a two-step process). These units will be assembled by the delivery team.
