Stretch partner video reviewBalanced Flexibility and Increased Range of Motion

This system was designed to provide the user with a deeper and fuller stretch, allowing the user to get an additional 8” to 15” of stretching movement. The Stretch Partner also supports balanced flexibility. Being flexible in particular areas or joints does not mean that all areas are flexible. Often people are more flexible in one joint than the other. The Stretch Partner provides consistent positioning allowing the user to focus on specific joints, or areas of the body to obtain balanced flexibility and range of motion.

Instructional Flip Chart and Video

Flexible for Life stretching DVD includes a step-by-step stretching program that covers all major muscle groups and a guide book that illustrates 18 stretches for all major muscle groups. Among those stretches are those for the lower back, hamstrings and hips - key muscle areas that golfers need to stretch before and after a round of golf to maximize their swing of motion. The guidebook also features stretches for the shoulders, upper back, neck, abdominals, forearm, triceps, chest, hamstring, glutes, groin, quadriceps, thighs, legs, calf and Achilles. Users can also quickly formulate their own stretches as well.

Flex-Smart Pivot System

The patented Flex-Smart™ pivoting system provides a greater range of movement to accommodate various body types and levels of flexibility. It helps place the user in the proper body position for stretching, then uses gravity to stretch all major muscle groups.

The LifeSpan Stretch Partner does exactly what it says it does. It has a set of cards that the user can flip through to systematically stretch all muscle groups. It's easy to use, both for me and my much shorter wife. I highly recommend it.

This is much more affordable than the ones that you see at the gym, and it works just as well. I find it most useful for stretching out my back, but you can also stretch hamstrings etc. It allows me to get a deeper stretch than if I was just on the ground doing stretches without a machine. It is sturdy and is fairly easy to build. Just follow the directions and you will be fine.

  3. Almost like the Precor Review by Reverie

This stretches my back and legs very much like the Precor, but there is one major difference I've noted: the handlebar. The handlebar has some give to it and it feels flimsy, but it's actually sturdy despite it's give. I'd rather have a solid handlebar, and I'm not sure what utility there is in the give.

I'm 5'3" and my mother is 5'0" and neither of us have had any problems using this device. She has back and shoulder problems which have been helped significantly through stretching. It's helped me be more diligent with stretching after my long runs. The LifeSpan machine comes with an instruction booklet that's divided based on the body target you wish to stretch. All the stretches come with pictures and text instructions.

Assembly was easy, but you want to assemble it wherever you plan on placing it because it gets heavy once it's altogether.

I have been using the SP1000 on a daily basis for about a month and I find that It compares very favorably with the much more expensive Precor Stretch Trainer that I was using at the gym. It is a little smaller and made of lighter materials but is well made and easy to assemble. It serves as an excellent means of stretching all areas of the body. The stretch guide, which is attached, is a great feature and includes illustrations of the recommended stretches.

I do speech therapy with a little children and I sit in the floor with my legs crossed. I have messed up my knees and my hamstrings and I've had to go to the chiropractor to try and align my hips. This is the same machine that is in his office that you use before he gives you your adjustment. I do the exercises listed every day and I no longer have severe pain in my knees. My knees are so distorted that I was having a very hard time walking. All is good now

I bought this device for my 81 year old father because he refuses to see a physical therapist.

He is walking much straighter in a matter of days (2 sessions per day).

I started using it myself and have eliminated my own back issues.

It's just simple traction but it works.

  7. Definitely not built for someone who is tall Review by LynnL

I have always enjoyed using the Precor stretcher at the gym. I read the reviews and saw the LifeSpan was not only cheaper, but had more stretches. I am a 5' 10" older woman in good condition with some extra weight. I was very uncomfortable leaning back as it seemed to crush my abdomin. It was difficult to breathe. I have never experienced this with the Precor. It helped holding the upper bars, but the LifeSpan was not nearly as comfortable as the Precor. In addition there is little or no padding on the outside rim of the knee pad. When bending back it is very uncomfortable on my upper shins. The black grip handles are hard on my palms. I am going to look for a leather wrap so I don't have to wear gym gloves. On the plus side there are more stretches available on the LifeSpan, and I really like LifeSpan's Quad stretch. I am going to continue trying to adjust my body position to find a more comfortable stretch.

This Stretching machine is a good buy for the money. It went together easily. It has a good stretching guide that is easily accessed. I have used a couple other similar machines by other manufacturers that seem to be more comfortable. I am 5'11", so not an unusual size, but the others just fit a bit better. I think a smaller person would fit this one better. But for the price, it is a good buy.

58 y/o playing sports all the time adds to someone always sore and always with stiff parts. Not to mention my extremely tight hamstrings. I receive at least one massage a week many times more. This machine is a good addition to my body wellness.

I recently purchased one after taking a bike fall and my back has remained "bound up". This machine has done wonders! I played a tennis tournament this weekend and was very sore/stiff. I hopped on this daily and felt much better. I've been using it one week and can already tell a difference.

Do you really need this? No. But this machine makes the stretches quickly and with better pressure. Assembly was pretty easy even for a village idiot like me.

I recommend this machine for those needing a good stretch with limited time or interested in better instruction and technique.

  11. Very Satisfied Review by PlanMan

I have some chronic lower back issues so I'm often on the lookout for "solutions". I use the Precor 240i stretch machine at the YMCA but the price point is just too high for a collection of aluminum pipes, a seat and handle bars. The LifeSpan SP1000 arrived at my door. Box was a bit beat up...so it was handled a bit roughly by someone along the way. Some smaller parts were scattered throughout the box so I was concerned something might be missing. Assembly was made more difficult by poor instructions but if you have even average mechanical skills its nothing to put together. You may need a helper to hold things for you. All parts, tools were included. The build quality on hardware is as good as Precor, although the seat and knee platforms aren't as well made. However they are more than adequate for home use. With the addition of a torquing joint at the base of the handlebar post you actually can do a few stretches that can't effectively done with the Precor. I can do a circuit of stretching in less than 10 minutes if I'm in a hurray so I'm happy. The design and workmanship are good. I'm 5'11" and have no problem with the size so I'm unsure what the commentary about it being for smaller person is referring to. I had an issue with the cross bar that attaches to the base of the handlebar post...it was welded off-center. I contacted LifeSpan and they sent me a new one after an email, phone call, and photograph I attached to email showing flaw. So, customer service would get a top rating from me based on that action. This is a solid investment in your health. Get one.

I bought this for home use because the Precor was $200. more. Its fine for stretching but I don"t like the movable handle, not necessary, and I feel the padded seats will crack. It's ok but still too expensive for what you get. I should have gotten the Precor Stretch Trainer.

I have had lower back problems most of my life. I discovered the similar Precor stretching machine at the gym, but it was considerably more expensive on Amazon. Bought this one and it is every bit as good!! I use this every day, and even more if I have been out and come home with a sore back. It stretches just the right muscles and provides great relief. I like the cards with other stretches too and am enjoying good stretches for my hips, legs and upper back as a nice bonus. It will pay for itself with money I won't be spending going for massages or to the doctor. If you have any back problems, believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING - and this is the BEST!!!

Purchased as gift for father (70+) for his home exercise area- he enjoys it a lot. Something to add to his strength / flexibility routine and maybe enhance his golf game. Think mom enjoys using it as much or more and both say how simple it is to use and how great it is have something handy they can use anytime. It has a bit different feel from the similar precor trainer I've used; but I felt the same result / effect with this machine when I tried it. Doesn't take up great amount of space, don't have to lay on the floor to use it, and assembly was simple according to dad. Best thing I can say is my folks like it, they're using it daily - morning / night and when ever they feel the need.

Not hard to put together. $500 is a bit much for the quality of the trainer. The seat and knee pad look like they won't take much use before splitting at the seams. The trainer is much smaller than I expected, but it will do the job. The seat needs to be moved back a few inches. You feel like you are sitting right on top of the handlebars. I am used to a Precor Trainer, which is a bit bigger/longer and a lot sturdier.

I had used this instrument some time back and was suprised by the results. Had completely overcome my backpain with workout followed by use of this machine in two weeks. Searched for it online and finally purchased one.

You will be surprised with the kind of stretches it gives to your back, legs, hamstring, shoulders.

You might try this before/after your work out or just stretch to strenghthen your back muscles using stretch exercizes.

Anyone who has a bachache or wants to avoid pain after workouts, this machine stretches your muscles and could alleviate pain - you could try it if it works for you!

After reading other reviews about this piece of equipment, I expected it to be more like the Precore I have used at the gym in the past. This is a nice piece of equipment, but I was surprised to find that the front piece moves. It is not bad, it is just different. Also, I read that it might not fit a tall person- my boyfriend is 6'6" and he uses it just fine.

Before purchasing this, I did look at the "Precor" stretcher but found LifeSpan stretcher to be of equal quality but with better feature (Front structure has a tilt feature which allows for a smooth and easier stretch) and at a much better price.

Installation was fairly simple. In summary, do not hesitate to purchase this equipment.

I had been using one at the gym for some time and thought it would be beneficial to have one at home so I could use it every day. I was so right. Now I use it every morning shortly after getting out of bed and I am so much more loose and relaxed during the day. When I play golf I use it after my round and never feel any soreness or tension in my muscles like I used to.

I'm 68 years old and have engaged in various sports since childhood. Age takes its toll. This Stretch Partner has reignited flexibility in my muscles that hasn't been there for years! It's extremely easy to use, comfortable and fun. My 49 year old wife....(soon to be 68)....loves it too! We have it in our home "mini-gym" and it's become a real favorite. We've recommended it already to several friends.

The LifeSpan Stretch Partner is a machine I use in conjunction with other stretching devices to maintain flexibility. I am 58-years-old and being flexible become more important each passing year. A person could do the same routine from the floor and without the machine, but I have found that having it provides more motivation. My only complaint would be that this machine seems to be designed for a woman or smaller-than-average person.

I bought this machine because I used another one made by Precor at my gym and loved it!! I started a home gym and had to have this piece of equipment as part of my gym. The Precor model was outside of my budget so I purchased this one instead.

Stretching after a workout is somewhat of a chore for me and I would sometimes forget muscle groups that I had worked out. This machine comes with a chart of all major muscle groups and walks you through a program. I stretch for about 10-15 minutes after each workout and feel great afterwards and much less sore the following days after a workout. My lower back and glutes are the areas the needs the most attention and this works so well there!

I have been using a model for a couple of years at my chiro and decided to buy one for myself to stretch and adjust between sessions. I came across this unit when I bought my treadmill and not only was this unit cheaper BUT also gives me a deeper stretch because the handlebar comes towards you than what other units offer. The video and flip book are nice and gives me more stretching options than the unit at my chiro's. I really enjoy my daily stretching routine!

The LifeSpan Fitness Stretch machine is a wonderfully stable machine. It is hard to believe such a compact machine can be so sturdy and do so much. The stretching uses the body's own weight for mild resistance to build strength along with flexibility. This type of stretching encourages better posture which enables better breathing. My 80-year-old husband uses it after he walks to warm up. Very life-enhancing.

  32. Precor effects without the hefty price tag Review by batnip
    Price
    Value
    Quality

The LifeSpan stretch partner works just as effective as the Precor and provides a great stretch partner at about 60 percent of the price of a Precor stretch partner. The only difference in the two machines is the LifeSpan front handle pier with the handle bar is designed to flex from the base frame as you stretch which seems to makes it a little easier as you start stretching. The seat and knee pad on the LifeSpan (vinyl encasing foam padded hardboard) is not as rugged as the molded seat and knee pad on the Precor stretch partner but, if you are using it at home and not putting it in a gym where dozens per day will use and abuse it, the LifeSpan should last a lifetime. Easy to assemble in less than 15 minutes with tools provided.

Unless your ego has to have the Precor name on everything in your home gym, buy the LifeSpan and use the dollars you save on this stretch partner to purchase a quality Precor treadmill or bike.

I learned about this device at a Chiropractor visit. He had three of the devices, and encouraged those waiting "adjustments" to stretch. (He did provide initial training guidance on it!) He recommended (to me) that I strongly consider purchase of this device, especially as I am a cyclist, and riding a road bike for extended periods does cause some body stresses. So, I bought one! Assembly was simple. (I had my son assemble it!) I use the device EVERYDAY. I am confident that it has been excellent for me, especially in the back, hip, and glutes stretches, all of which suffer in varying degrees when I ride. The price of the device is steep, but actually is half the cost of similar devices I have seen in gyms, YMCAs, etc.

Shipping & Delivery Options

LifeSpan wants to make sure your products arrive safely and quickly. We do our best to provide you with delivery options that will best suit your needs. All delivery options are listed below with a brief description for each.

We feel the best value for your money is our Room of Choice Delivery. We make our products easy to assemble even easier to get started, but because they are heavy we recommend having them delivery to the room of your choice.

If you are wanting to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada OR if you have any other questions on the options below, please give us a call at 801.973.9993 x 128 and a representative will be happy to assist you.

All products generally ship within one to two business days and will be delivered in five to ten business days.

Available Options:

Standard Delivery

UPS/USPS Shipments: UPS and USPS shipments will follow their standard protocols for package deliveries. It is up to the discretion of the driver whether a package is left when no one is home. If the driver feels that the package could be stolen or get damaged based on your location or weather conditions the driver will not drop the package but will leave a first attempt notice. The driver will make three attempts with notices on each attempt and then return the product to the distribution center to be held for the customer to pick up. After seven days the shipment is considered undeliverable and will be returned to the shipper.

Curbside Delivery: Delivered to the curb or driveway. The customer is responsible for moving the product from the point of delivery to the garage or room where the product will reside. The drivers are not responsible for placing the product inside the garage or home. LifeSpan will not be responsible for rain damage or stolen product if the product cannot be moved to a dry, secure location. Since most equipment weighs over 175 lbs., if a second person is not available to help move the product to the home a better option is Inside Delivery or the best option is Room of Choice Delivery.

Inside Delivery - $49

Large items ship via motor freight and will be placed in the garage or the first available ground level door. This does not include room of choice or any steps. Since your product is being shipped via freight carrier you will be contacted by phone to schedule a delivery time since this shipping method requires a signature.

Room of Choice - $99

Delivered by a freight carrier with lift gate, two delivery professionals will place your product in the room of your choice. Rooms can be up/down two flights of stairs only, additional flights will be charged an additional $15 per flight. This is our recommended service option since the assembly process is quite basic for most LifeSpan pieces of equipment.

White Glove Service - $199

This is our highest quality shipping service, leaving all the work to us so you don't need to lift a finger. The complete White Glove Service includes:

  • Delivery of the product to your home
  • Placement in the room of your choice (up/down two flights of stairs)
  • Unpacking and removal of debris
  • Assembly

This service is sometimes a two-step process that may require two separately scheduled appointments.

  1. Delivery and removal of packaging
  2. Product assembly may require a certified LifeSpan technician to come to your home and assemble the product that was placed in your room of choice by the delivery team.

Depending on the product you purchase, it may take one or two separately scheduled appointments. Items that only require one-step in this process are the TR200 Treadmill and all Treadmill Desks and Bike Desks (ConfigureDesks will be a two-step process). These units will be assembled by the delivery team.
