  1. portable and great for walking Review by Marilee Hollister

This treadmill is portable, folds up easily (although heavy) My only complaint is the rubber smell that started after a month or so of using it 3-4 times a week for 20-30 minutes. We bought the lubricant and used it several times but still get that smell after about 15 minutes. It is good for walking/power walking but not jogging/running. Speakers are tinty and noisy when hooked up to my MP3 so I don't use that feature. It is very simple to use and set up! It is perfect for limited space or when you need to put it away. I stand mine up vertically in a corner of my office. Price was good and fast shipping.

  2. a good buy Review by EP

I've had this treadmill for one year now and am pleased with it overall. For the first several months I used it daily; now I've added other equipment to my home gym and use it every third day or so.

It came completely assembled (nice!). The instructions advise using belt oil before first use but none is included, so be sure to order a bottle when you order your treadmill. You'll need it anyway, as it is important to keep treadmill belts oiled to keep the motor from being overworked. Construction is solid for a machine of this class (folding/portable). After the first couple months of use I noticed the rubber on one of the rear feet had started coming apart - apparently I didn't have it fully level (uneven wooden floor) and the movement started tearing the rubber. I contacted Lifespan to purchase a replacement foot and they sent me a new one at no charge. Excellent customer service!

The control panel is easy to use. It has 6 pre-set programs, each with 3 levels of difficulty, or you can create your own custom program. Has a jack to plug in your iPod; speaker quality is not great but acceptable for what it is.

Every once in a while (4 or 5 times in the past year) the control panel goes a little wacky when it is first turned on, but each time was resolved by just turning off then on again. I've also had the "safety key" wiggle a bit out of place and that will also prevent the unit from powering on correctly (also easily fixable).

When I purchased this treadmill I thought I might fold it up for storage on a regular basis, but as it turns out I just leave it up all the time, so can't comment on the durability of that feature.

Having done research before this purchase, I will say this machine receives high ratings for its class and I feel it is a very good buy. Lifespan has given me great customer service.

  3. Good for casual walking but not much more, Review by Lord Foul

I bought this treadmill in December of 2009. It is rated at 250 lbs. which is more than adequate for my needs. Initially, I was very happy with it. The unit came fully assembled and setup was very easy. It was easy to maneuver. It only took a couple of minutes to fold up and put away. It felt sturdy while in use and it had a decent amount of exercise programs to choose from. My daughter and I used it for speed walking. My wife used it for casual walking. The belt required lubricating every 3 months which was somewhat of a pain but otherwise, we all like it.

The first 4 months of ownership were great. After that, things went quickly downhill. As several have mentioned, the treadmill was plagued by constant sudden stops. Over the next 8 months, I had to have it serviced about every 4 to 6 weeks during which the belt was replaced twice, the motor was replaced twice, the display console circuit board was replaced and the wiring harness was replaced. The second belt and motor was installed during the last service call (a week before the 1 year warranty expired). That time, they upgraded the motor to one with more horsepower which seemed to do the trick. With the larger motor, the cover wouldn't fit properly and this created an annoying rattle as it ran. Aside from that, the unit ran well for over a year.

About 6 or 7 months ago, the sudden stops began again. At that point, it worked well enough for my wife's casual walking but wouldn't accommodate speed walking. Finally, it started failing with my wife. Being out of warranty and not wanting to waste money on it, I trashed it and bought a NordicTrack C 900 that I found clearanced at a Sears Outlet store for $600.

On the service side, I must say that customer support was very good. Each time I called, parts arrived within a day or two and a service man was at my door within 2 to 3 days. At no time did they give me the run-around or make excuses or waste my time with attempts at over the phone diagnostics. They were always polite and very responsive.

To sum it up, if casual walking is all you do, this treadmill should work well for you. Otherwise, keep looking.

  4. Meets my needs! Review by Gray Cat

I have a slightly older model that I got about three years ago, and it's a great piece of equipment. This treadmill got me started running so that I ran my first 5K a couple of years ago. I stopped exercising regularly, between then and now, but I'm back on the treadmill, and it's working well. It's basic, but it does the job. I can walk and run on it comfortably.

What's most wonderful about it, is that it folds up completely and has a small footprint. I'm able to slide it between the wall and some built in cabinets so that it's completely out of the way. Sliding it out and opening it is a little bit of a pain, but it's no big deal, assuming you aren't moving it too far. I'm a middle aged woman with not much strength, and I can do it fine.

The price is reasonable, and the ability to store it out of the way is a huge plus. Exercise equipment is not my idea of furniture, and I don't have the extra space for a gym in my house, so this is really the only way I would ever own a treadmill.

  5. Heavier and a bit awkward Review by redrose35

This treadmill is easy to assemble but it is a bit annoying to keep tightening the nobs for the upright portion of the machine. These nobs keep the upright portion tight. When you want to fold up the machine, you loosen the nobs (not an easy task) and then fold the upright down. The machine itself is a bit heavier than I would like making moving it a bit unpleasant.

That being said, the treadmill is a bit noisy but is a fine choice for indoor walking.

  6. Quiet, well made, and perfect for indoor exercise Review by Professor_in_NC

I wanted a treadmill that I could use for brisk walking (3.5 mph) and I wanted one with an incline that could be adjusted while in use. This treadmill is perfect for me! I am short and my husband is 6'2" & it works well for both of us. It does roll easily on the front wheels, but I failed to notice that it is 3" wider than my inside doorways, so I leave it where it is. I also leave it in the "unfolded" position because after unfolding it, you have to tighten the base by turning the too-smooth blue caps at the base of the support poles (which I can't do with limited hand strength). It is small enough that it is not in the way next to my desk, and I am glad that the console is simple and small. I can hold a book on the handle and read while walking, but mostly I just listen to podcasts. I haven't tried the faster speeds, so I can't comment on that. The incline is not as high as I expected something labeled "10" to be, but it is enough to work my "hill" muscles. I was happy to see that this model (2014) has the emergency stop clip that I can hook to my shirt. It is quiet and overall an excellent choice!

  7. Not bad Review by CL

First, you're paying for convenience here - not quality. There are better treadmills for less money, but this one folds up for closet storage, which is what I needed. The larger folding treadmills won't fit in my coat closet, so I had few viable options. This is also the only compact treadmill I could find with auto incline adjust, which was worth extra money for me.

The treadmill itself has no cushioning for your joints, etc, so it's similar to walking on pavement. It is very heavy and not at all easy to maneuver around, but once it's folded, it does fit into my coat closet. Like I said, this is not so easy to do. I'm a 5'2" female, so maybe it would be easier for someone larger. Luckily I don't need to put this in a closet very often, so it won't be a huge issue for me.

It arrived a day early and UPS left it at my door. I managed to unpack and set up myself with a good bit of effort. It runs smoothly and seems sturdy. It is not whisper quiet by any means, but I didn't have to turn up the volume on the tv either. I suppose this would depend on your proximity to the tv.

It's slow to get going and at first I thought it wasn't working, but it just takes a minute for the treadmill to start moving. There are speed and incline programs available. There are 10 incline levels, though I'm not sure what percentage the inclines actually are, I felt a noticeable difference when using incline.

All in all, I feel the purchase was a decent one for me. It allows me to have a treadmill in my living room, store it when needed, and use automatic incline. If I had the space though, I'd opt for a more quality item. For space constraints, this fits the bill.

  8. Perfect for my needs, Review by M. Masitto

I live in a downtown condo and wanted something compact to fit into my spare bedroom / office. I was looking at this unit which I bought and an Evolve treadmill. Both treadmill dimensions allow for under the bed storage or in my case under my futon which is what I was looking for. I also was looking for something that I could do some fairly consistent walking 3- 4 days at 20-30 minutes...I am not a jogger or runner (BTW I would not see this unit being ideal for real heavy running use). I was looking for a treadmill that I could use my iPod with which both units do. It came down to (2) factors for me why I picked the TR 200. The first is that my unit has incline which the other unit does not...I use the incline a lot to burn more calories and mix up my walks. What is really nice is since I change the incline often I use the buttons on the console that I can go to a specific incline. The second and not as important was that the motor size is a little bit bigger than the other compact units I looked at. The treadmill is 100% assembled in the box...I cut the back end of the box and rolled the treadmill out so I did not have to lift the treadmill out of the box. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this treadmill for those limited on space or for walkers.

  9. Love it! Review by Frannie

I have it for about a week now and so far it does the job!

  10. great! Review by DDevlinJr

I had the TR100 and liked it. This one I LOVE. I run 30 minutes every day and needed a treadmill with a little more speed and with incline capabilities. This one works fantastically well and gives me everything I need. I love that it came fully assembled and how easy it is to store. Highly recommend

  11. So far, everything I hoped for - but buy lubricant here when you order! Review by Fortuna

I am not a runner or jogger, just an overweight, late middle-aged woman who needs more exercise but doesn't want to walk on rural roads where I live, or join a gym.

Delivery was fast, set-up was easy (it's heavy - if you are a woman alone, you WILL need help getting it inside). The instruction manual left something to be desired, but there's an URL to a pdf file with a more thorough one. I haven't begun using any of the pre-set programs; I'm just trying to work my way gradually to better condition at this point.

If you decide to buy this treadmill, be advised that you cannot walk into Lowe's or Home Depot and find 100% pure silicon to lube the belt -- all I could find available were aerosol products containing petroleum distillates, which are contraindicated. Place an order for it here when you order the treadmill! I bought mine just after Christmas (busy time!), didn't get around to setting it up for another week or so, then couldn't find the lube and had to wait for shipping. In the meantime, since I hadn't been able to use it yet, I forgot to register the purchase. Hope it will be covered if anything goes wrong, even though it's slightly more than 30 days after purchase!

  12. Serves its purpose Review by Sue

Treadmill works well - I did have to get used to the narrower belt than standard gym models.

Hard for me to tighten, but it is still new. I CANNOT lift the treadmill to store it. Too heavy for me.

  13. Great for small condo or apartment Review by Paula

I love this treadmill. I've had it now for 2 years, and it works as well as the 1st day I bought it. It fits in my condo without taking up too much room. I walk briskly for 30 minutes every other day as I watch DVD movies, and it fits my lifestyle perfectly. Exercise without any hassles!

  14. Small and powerful Review by T. Ryan

I am very satisfied with the TR200 Treadmill. I live in a small apartment and it's compact size works perfectly for my lifestyle. The different programs fit my fitness regime and it is very user friendly. I had never purchased a piece of fitness equipment and lifespan.com made it very easy to do. This machine helps me maintain and achieve my fitness goals . I would recommend it to anyone searching for fitness equipment that doesn't take up a lot of room but still gives a complete workout.

Available Options:

Standard Delivery

UPS/USPS Shipments: UPS and USPS shipments will follow their standard protocols for package deliveries. It is up to the discretion of the driver whether a package is left when no one is home. If the driver feels that the package could be stolen or get damaged based on your location or weather conditions the driver will not drop the package but will leave a first attempt notice. The driver will make three attempts with notices on each attempt and then return the product to the distribution center to be held for the customer to pick up. After seven days the shipment is considered undeliverable and will be returned to the shipper.

Curbside Delivery: Delivered to the curb or driveway. The customer is responsible for moving the product from the point of delivery to the garage or room where the product will reside. The drivers are not responsible for placing the product inside the garage or home. LifeSpan will not be responsible for rain damage or stolen product if the product cannot be moved to a dry, secure location. Since most equipment weighs over 175 lbs., if a second person is not available to help move the product to the home a better option is Inside Delivery or the best option is Room of Choice Delivery.

Inside Delivery - $49

Large items ship via motor freight and will be placed in the garage or the first available ground level door. This does not include room of choice or any steps. Since your product is being shipped via freight carrier you will be contacted by phone to schedule a delivery time since this shipping method requires a signature.

Room of Choice - $99

Delivered by a freight carrier with lift gate, two delivery professionals will place your product in the room of your choice. Rooms can be up/down two flights of stairs only, additional flights will be charged an additional $15 per flight. This is our recommended service option since the assembly process is quite basic for most LifeSpan pieces of equipment.

White Glove Service - $199

This is our highest quality shipping service, leaving all the work to us so you don't need to lift a finger. The complete White Glove Service includes:

  • Delivery of the product to your home
  • Placement in the room of your choice (up/down two flights of stairs)
  • Unpacking and removal of debris
  • Assembly

This service is sometimes a two-step process that may require two separately scheduled appointments.

  1. Delivery and removal of packaging
  2. Product assembly may require a certified LifeSpan technician to come to your home and assemble the product that was placed in your room of choice by the delivery team.

Depending on the product you purchase, it may take one or two separately scheduled appointments. Items that only require one-step in this process are the TR200 Treadmill and all Treadmill Desks and Bike Desks (ConfigureDesks will be a two-step process). These units will be assembled by the delivery team.
