Tips For Working From Home
How To Be Healthy and Productive
While Working Remotely
Working from home can either be a blessing or a curse. On the one hand, it’s nice to skip out on the commute, on the other hand, there may be more distractions at home than there are at the office. Here are some ways to help you succeed as you work from home:
Stick to your normal routine:
Although tempting, rolling out of bed and working in your pajamas is not going to do you any favors. Set an alarm and get ready as you would any other work day. You will feel more productive and focused. Schedule your tasks and meetings throughout the day as you normally would so you’re not tempted to end the day early.
Set boundaries with others:
Determine what potential distractions you will face as you work from home and prepare accordingly. If you have kids or family members who are also home, be sure to set boundaries of when they can and cannot interrupt you. Set boundaries for yourself, too. Work the hours you would typically work, not just any hour of the day or night.
Create a dedicated workstation:
Sure, it would be nice to work from the comfort of your bed, but you won’t accomplish much. Set up a dedicated workstation and use it consistently. This way, your mind switches to work mode as soon as you enter that space. To take your workstation to the next level, get a standing desk, a treadmill desk or bike desk so you can move while you work - a proven way to keep you productive throughout the day.
